A major goal of the work I do with my clients and A major goal of the work I do with my clients and program members is to give them the tools to ditch SIBO diets. More restrictions does not lead to better outcomes. In fact, many SIBO sufferers have worse symptoms the more they restrict (there are different reasons for this--but it is a common theme among my clients).

These diets can be effective bandaids for short term use, but they do not repair the root causal breakdowns. If your main long term strategy to control symptoms is through diet restrictions, you will shoot yourself in the foot.

The great news is that so many of my clients reach their gut goals when they start to expand their diets in combination with a root causal approach. Once they start loosening the reigns of these diets, they are able to adequately nourish their bodies, their stress levels go down and their gut function actually improves.

If you have been on restrictive diets for awhile, this may feel out of reach, but it is not! I have seen clients who have restricted for decades be able to add in tons of new foods.

The key for many of my client breakthroughs is to divert more attention to root causes and focus way less on restricting. This shift in focus yields much better long term outcomes in my experience.

If you are feeling a bit stuck and wanting a process that can help ensure you are nourished while addressing root causes, explore if my SIBO Root Cause Repair Program is right for you. When you sign up in the next 2 days you will get instant access to all the course content and you will be able to attend all the Live Q and As before I peace out for maternity leave :)

When I review most of my new SIBO clients historie When I review most of my new SIBO clients histories, I often find that past strategies have lacked a clear process. When it comes to SIBO, the order of which you implement strategies is VERY IMPORTANT. You be implementing the right strategies in the wrong order--which leaves many stuck.

After working with hundreds of SIBO clients, I have designed a process that helps my clients find long term SIBO relief. How you prioritize your strategies at different points is so key!

These are the steps I walk program participants through in my SIBO Root Cause Repair program. The process gives you a clear roadmap to follow that addresses the core underlying breakdowns that cause SIBO.

Having a process to follow can save you time, money and frustration.

My SIBO Repair Program is now enrolling and doors will be closing next Wednesday. When you sign, up you get instant access to all the program materials right away.

I am so excited to help another cohort of my SIBO I am so excited to help another cohort of my SIBO peeps discover the strategies that lead to long term SIBO relief!

I developed this program to expose you to the root causal tools that can help you beat SIBO for good. Most popular protocols don't work because they just focus on clearing or starving the gut. You have to focus on rebuilding and repairing the gut to achieve long term SIBO freedom!

This program can help you ditch the restrictive diets and the cyclical rounds of antimicrobials for a more sustainable long term SIBO approach.

Here is what some past participants have said about the program:

Jamie had this to say about the program: “I left this program with a deeper understanding of my health and feeling better than I have in years.

No lie - it helped me change my life (even my therapist said so!) From overcoming food fears to identifying what might be going on in my body, it helped me incorporate daily changes into my life that improved it as a whole.”

Kayli adds. "I've learned so much about supporting digestion, nutrition, liver, etc. I've also figured out how to use supplements to digest protein better which has been really hindering my progress. I feel like my sleep has also improved and I'm able to eat more foods."

Kiki concluded the biggest benefit of the program was “trusting myself to expand my diet and having the courage to move away from antimicrobials.”

Spots are LIMITED for this session. So, be sure to reserve your spot soon.

One of the first key steps to SIBO repair is being One of the first key steps to SIBO repair is being able to identify root causal breakdowns. But, sometimes it can be confusing where to start when it comes to root causes. Especially since most of my clients have multiple root causal issues going on.

I am so excited about my latest resource for you to utilize to help give you more clarity and clear up root cause confusion! I have designed the "Discover Your Root Cause" questionnaire. You can access this free resource by going to the link in my bio.

This tool can be useful to help you clue in on what root causal issues are likely at play for you. Identifying root causes leads to strategy decisions that are more relevant to your case. Better strategies create better long term results!

I wanted to release this new resource in celebration of my SIBO Root Cause Repair Program relaunching. Enrollment is now open! You can also sign up for that in the links in my bio.

I would also love to answer any root causal questions you have in the comments below :)

Fermented foods have been shown to increase microb Fermented foods have been shown to increase microbiome diversity. If tolerated, increasing fermented food intake can be a great way to better the microbiome as a whole.

The great thing about fermented foods is that they are typically a blend of probiotic, prebiotics and postbiotics. You can get a trifecta of gut gains with many fermented foods.

Fermented foods certainly get a bad wrap in the SIBO space. And there are some people especially those with histamine issues that might need to cut these out to control symptoms, but I have seen many SIBO and IBS sufferers really benefit from ferments.

Fermented foods may take some experimenting to figure out which ones you do best with, but the more variety that you can work in the better.

Just a note--for pickles, you want to buy them in the refrigerated section of the store. These are where the traditional ferments are going to be found. The ones in the middle of the aisle will not have live cultures. Bubbies brand is my favorite.

Stress Management is so key for better gut and ove Stress Management is so key for better gut and overall health! I wanted to share a simple framework to help you with stress management.

One core aspect to keep in mind--stress management is not one-size fits all. You need to find the strategies that provide the most benefits for you. For some people that may be something like meditation and for others that might be making sure to meet up with their friends once a week.

One of my clients who literally dabbled in every stress management technique imaginable found that playing the guitar calmed down her nervous system better than any other strategy!

There is no wrong way to do stress management. It is all about making the time, having a menu of options and honing in on what you need in the moment.

My favorite stress management activities...

1. What I like to call "lazy meditation" where I just close my eyes and listen to spa music for about 15-20 minutes

2. Lately, I have been listening to hypnotherapy tracks on youtube that have to do with child birth

3. Walking my dog

4. Baths

5. Guitar

6. Books

7. Calling a loved one/friend for a chat

I would love to hear about your favorite stress management strategies! Please leave them in the comments

I believe many of my clients grow tired of how muc I believe many of my clients grow tired of how much I harp on the fight or flight response--BUT it is so so so crucial to pushing the needle. So, sorry I am not sorry for beating this dead horse LOL!

Your gut function completely shuts down when mental, emotional and physical stressors overwhelm the body. And what kind of stressors will put you in a fight or flight state?

Being in a fight or flight state can look like:

1. Chronic undereating leaving your bodies nervous system with too little resources to run optimally

2. Not getting enough sleep (you can sleep when you are dead but your nervous system won't be happy)

3. Not moving enough

4. Not getting enough sunshine

5. Lacking meaningful or supportive relationships

6. Struggling to balance work, kids and life in general (too much on your plate)

7. Not having adequate time daily to recharge with timely self-care strategies. Not being able to do at least 1 thing daily that fills your cup

8. Struggling with hardship, trauma or tragedy can keep you locked in fight or flight

9. Lacking fun/play/excitement in your life

Luckily, there are so many tools that can help you get out of a fight or flight state! It takes habit change and consistency, but try to just start with just one of these areas that you believe is most stressful for you right now. Try to implement weekly goals to help you push the needle in this area.

You don't have to be perfect and you don't have to tackle these all at once. But, taking baby steps can really help your gut and overall health in the long run!

Throwback to this gem!!! Thank God for my amazing Throwback to this gem!!! Thank God for my amazing podcast co-host Nikki for the best shirt ever @triangleguts

Eating a low FODMAP diet is not a cure for IBS. It could potentially help symptoms short term but it is also a bandaid

Low FODMAP won’t starve the SIBO or correct underlying breakdowns in your digestion. Staying on low FODMAP too long could even lead to more digestive dysfunction

FODMAPs help to feed good microbes that help our bodies function optimally. Staying on this diet too long will starve out your good microbes and leave you more susceptible to overgrowths and imbalances

The integrity of your gut lining also can take a hit when diversity of your microbiome becomes depleted on low FODMAP

Using low FODMAP for a few weeks to calm down symptoms may be helpful but it is not a long term solution! I will scream this from the mountain tops if I have to

I know it can be difficult to broaden your diet and come off of low FODMAP, but I have seen it be so helpful for my clients! If you need some guidance on how to broaden your diet — click the link in my bio to see how I could help
